Burrito Bison is the first game in the series of the same name which was published in February 2011 by Juicy Beast Studio. The game consists of jumping and bouncing on gummy bears to maintain high velocity and break through doors to escape Candyland.
Plot[]
One day, when Burrito Bison was shopping for groceries, there was a mysterious bag on a shelf that suddenly grabbed and snatched him, which put him in a world of candy inhabited by gummy bears. He then found himself in a cage, and was forced to fight the Jawbreaker by Harry Bow-Tie. Eventually, he flies to the point where he escapes. A sequel, named Burrito Bison Revenge continues the story.
Mechanics[]
There are many mechanics which were introduced and improved in later games. Here's a list of certain ones:
- Upgrades allow for further progression which get more expensive for every level but can be a assistance. To know more, go to the upgrades section.
- Special gummies, like the Bubble Gummy, allow for a boost in speed and height. When touched, they allow you to play a mini game in which if the player does good, will give you an extra kick in velocity.
- Perfect Launches are done by clicking (or pressing the spacebar) when the needle is in the white zone. Doing this will fling Bison forward at a higher speed than usual, along with damaging your opponent. 10 Perfect Launches will defeat the Jawbreaker and make him visibly injured for the rest of the game.
Upgrades[]
There are 2 types of upgrades which can be purchased: Player upgrades, and Gummy upgrades. In each category, there are 12 different upgrades (6 player and 6 gummy upgrades respectively), each one with a higher price. Player upgrades increase Burrito Bison's skills, while gummy upgrades unlock and increase the likelihood of them spawning. The chart tells more about play upgrades only:
